A message from our President and CEO

What's in a name?

Webster's defines superior as meaning "above average, high quality, with ability, etc…" That's what our company's founder, Burt "Inky" Dedmon envisioned when he started manufacturing a simple replacement valve guide back in 1967. His parts would be above average and of high quality …and they were.

We grew from offering one simple part to becoming the largest producer of aftermarket piston aircraft engine parts in the world. I know Inky was proud.

Like other small companies, even our superior products weren't enough to fend off problems. Through the years we've had some less than enthusiastic owners and, like all of general aviation, have struggled through some turbulent financial times.

Through it all, the one thing that never wavered is our commitment to Inky's founding vision of what our company would be and the quality of the products and service we would deliver to our customers.

Anything less and Superior Air Parts would have gone the way of so many other small companies.

But we didn't. Our loyal customers and dedicated dealers have helped to make sure that we're still here and with a stronger-than-ever commitment to be the definition of superior in everything we do.

No, we're not perfect. But as we work hard to reestablish our position in an ever more demanding marketplace our goal is to live up to the promise of our name.

What's next for Superior?

As the president and CEO of Superior Air Parts, while my primary responsibility is to ensure that the goals of our owners are realized, I'm even more committed to ensuring that you, our customers, continue to benefit from the highest quality products and well above average customer services.

Are we there yet? No, we're not. But we are working hard every day to get back to business as usual. In the meantime, I ask for your continued patience and confidence as we work to build our inventory levels to meet your needs.
